Title: Manufacturing Manager, Flexographic Printing

The Printing Manager is responsible the daily operation of a multi-shift Flexographic printing operation. This individual works directly with and manages a supervisory staff of four, each with responsibility for a team of approximately 20 /- per shift.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Achieve department safety goals by embracing and supporting a safe culture, encouraging employee involvement, addressing safety concerns, and modeling safe behaviors. Partner with the HSE team to achieve safety and environmental standards.
- Achieve desired level of employee engagement, supporting a culture of listening and responding to employee concerns, taking decisive actions, and recognizing excellent performance.
- Achieve product quality standards by ensuring employees are trained on quality standards, following quality procedures, and performing requisite inspections. Partner with Quality Assurance to achieve customer quality standards.
- Achieve productivity goals by communicating clear objectives, providing requisite resources to direct reports, engaging the workforce, and setting appropriate priorities and monitoring progress.
- Achieve established maintenance standards, optimizing equipment up-time.
- Achieve a culture of continuous improvement, waste reduction and optimal throughput.
- Assist in development and implementation of Printing department budget.
- Effectively communicate throughout the organization.
- Evaluate job performance and recommend appropriate personnel action.

Required Skills
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 7 years of Supervisor experience working in Web Press Operations.
- Prior manufacturing department management experience, preferred.
- Flexographic experience, preferred.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor’s degree (Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Business Administration, or related field) strongly preferred
- Extensive related work experience required in lieu of degree.
SKILLS:
- Strong strategic, analytical problem-solving ability (TCC/Trouble Cause Correction)
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and lead a team, including train, coach, mentor, and counsel
- Demonstrated knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S or other discipline)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong safety and product quality orientation.
- Computer skills with a focus on Microsoft office applications, QAD experience (preferred)
- Ability to work independently, in partnership with others, and across departments and functions, to acheive goals.
- Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation.
