The Master Scheduler, under the direction of our Production Control Manager, is responsible for establishing, reviewing and maintaining the master production schedule in alignment with Sales, Inventory, and Operations. The Master Scheduler is responsible for analyzing scenarios that balance demand and supply while optimizing inventory and minimizing the impact of demand volatility.Establishing the master schedule involves working closely with our operations leaders, demand planners, production planners, and others to coordinate manufacturing plans that achieve our company objectives relative to customer service, efficient resource/capacity utilization and inventory investment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Produces and maintains master schedules for all departments.
  • Manage and establish monthly capacity and budget models.
  • Manages DRP shipments through the QAD system.
  • Codes backorders and investigates variances.
  • Establishes good working relationships with departments, customer service, and sales.
  • Manages setup of items in QAD.
  • Translates the monthly forecast by product family to a detailed weekly master production schedule.
  • Incorporate inter-company demand and backlog into the supply planning process to ensure capacity and resources are available to meet demand requirements.
  • Support customer service with exception request analysis and expediting resolution.
  • Create and publish daily/weekly/monthly factory schedule adherence, capacity, and inventory reports.
  • Serve as a factory subject matter expert (SME) for MRP production planning and scheduling modules.
  • Identification and resolution of Constraints - Capacity, Resource & Material.
  • Conducts a demonstrated lead-time analysis and measures gap to published lead times. Drives corrective action plans and reviews and updates published lead-times.
  • Drives continuous process improvement, strives to improve efficiency, likely to challenge processes where favorable alternatives may be available.
  • Maintains data integrity of ERP planning parameters. Parameters such as lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, delivery times, and order file data for all master scheduled items.
  • May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by changing business needs.

Required Skills

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or relevant field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant Planning and Scheduling experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Possesses excellent math and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Possesses superior communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Possesses ability to work in a high paced, multi-task environment.
  • Maintains positive team environment.
  • Possesses ability to read, write and follow written or verbal instructions; Ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and is very detail oriented.
  • Demonstrates self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies by performing duties in a safe and orderly manner at all times.
