OPPORTUNITY:

Graphic Packaging International is a Foodservice cup forming manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join our Shelbyville, Illinois team.  This job posting is for a Distribution Clerk.  Pay starts at $18.94/hour and progresses to $19.46/hr through 6 months, plus $1/hr shift differential.

 JOB SUMMARY:

Perform the clerical duties required in shipping and receiving.  Duties also include compiling records of the activities concerning production, shipping, and receiving.

 WORK DEVICE:

Computer terminal, printers, adding machine, typewriter, copy machine, RF terminal, tally sheets, files, logbooks, bill of ladings, packing lists, purchase orders, inventory reports, pick copies, telephone system, and radios (FM and CB).

 TRAINING PROVIDED:

On the job training provided by qualified Distribution Clerk, Group Leader and Shift Supervisor

 SUPERVISOR REQUIREMENTS:

Supervision provided by the Shift Supervisor, Group Leader and Department Manager

 TIME OF OPERATION: 

12 Hour shifts working alternately (36) and (48) hour weeks with four (15) minute breaks and one (25) minute lunch.  A/B shifts work from 7 am to 7 pm.  C/D shifts work from 7 pm to 7 am.                                                                                                                                             

  DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:

  • Perform all duties in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Be actively engaged, involved, and current in Safe Work Observation (SWO) process; Participate in safety meetings and safety tours.
  • Ensure production and distribution of products consistent with established food safety, sanitation and quality standards.
  • Enter data and generate reports via computer; Enter conveyor schedule.
  • Verify inventory transactions and adjustments (Familiarity with RF Equipment).
  • Schedule truck line pick-up and delivery appointments.
  • Coordinate incoming trucks to correct dock or yard.
  • Receive inbound product against purchase orders.
  • Generate bill of lading for outgoing shipments.
  • Maintain dock board with locations of all trailers at facility.
  • Make date labels, File Transportation documents.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with MFGPRO eB2.1 (QAD).
  • Perform cycle counts on all finished good materials, WIP, KDs and pallets in the Warehouse.
  • Perform Month-end packaging inventory.
  • Analyze transaction reports to determine the root cause of discrepancies.
  • Assist drivers with issues regarding issue and receipt entry, transfer, and cycle counting.
  • Audit all locations for negative quantities.
  • Responsible for item types, class codes, and correct descriptions for items in QAD
  • Conduct product recalls using QAD transactions
  • Maintain accuracy on promotional items.
  • Develop proficiency of basic other clerk role duties, providing support in those roles when necessary.
  • Maintain all work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Fulfill overtime requirements as necessary to ensure Transportation requirements are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

EDUCATION PREFERRED:

High School Diploma or GED, required

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Must be 18 years’ old
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and departments, internally and externally.
  • Previous experience creating bills of lading
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize time management, detail oriented, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Software proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, QAD, Email, Internet)
  • Previous experience with data entry with proficient keyboarding skills
  • Strong organizational and filing skills
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.   
  • High level of integrity to ensure accurate reporting of data.
  • Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.
  • Maintain a positive team environment. 
  • Successful completion of the interview.
  • Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation. This includes: Walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time; Visual acuity and depth perception necessary to read computer screen or other electronic devices; Working in various temperatures & humidity levels.
