JOB SUMMARY:

Safely ensures that plastic lids are correctly packed in KD’s (boxes) and placed on conveyor according to customer specifications and quality standards.  Duties also include: plastic lid inspection, ensuring proper count and packing of lids in poly bags and cases, preparation of KD’s (boxes), housekeeping of the pack station area, ensures automated packing tasks are completed appropriately while working in a safe manner by obeying all safety rules.

WORK DEVICE:

Cases, poly bags, broom, tape, KD’s, KD labels, label moistener, waste containers, stampers and stamp pad, bag taper, conveyor, grinding carts, quality check sheets, felt markers, dust pan, and lid gauge.

EDUCATION PREFERRED:

High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 1-2 years previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Well-developed communications and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a high paced and multi-taking environment
  • Maintains positive team environment
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and highly detail oriented
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

 DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:

  • Change clock number and date on stamper and then stamp KD’s
  • Count and adjust tape on trays
  • Fill out quality check sheets and perform a quality check every 3 hours
  • Mark, bag, and tape plastic lids, then place into correct case
  • Remove KD from stand
  • Open and position new KD on KD stand
  • Push full case onto the conveyor
  • Change tape on bag taper when needed
  • Grind defective lids in grinders
  • Train new Packers
  • Repack damaged cases of lids
  • Maintain a clean and orderly pack station at all times
  • Follow all safety rules and perform all duties in a safe manner
  • Notify Material Handlers when materials are required
  • Pick out defective lids
  • Gauge lids
  • Fulfill overtime requirements necessary to ensure production requirements are met as well as shutdown and start-up requirements before and after the completion of the shift Perform such other miscellaneous duties as may be assigned by the Department Supervisor from time to time
