MISSION / SUMMARY:
Offers guidance and direction in regard to all laminating processes. Understand and align all business operations with Asitrade and Laminating initiatives as he/she executes their role in the overall laminating process to meet or exceed expectations and align with GPI business, culture, financial, and operational objectives. Provides technical training and support to management and employees with regards to the plant’s product safety programs (HACCP, SQF, Food Defense, etc.) and Lean initiatives.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
- Provides expert guidance and direction in Laminating.
- Work closely with planning and scheduling managers to organize work.
- Raw materials inventory and ordering.
- Monitors and consistently works towards process improvement and high-quality results.
- Supervision of all hourly department employees.
- Involved in recruiting selection process, performance reviews, and all measures of progressive discipline.
- Assist in troubleshooting problems.
- Complete all necessary reports.
- May be required to meet with internal and external customers.
- Manage and maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain solid employee relations and promote positive culture.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Communicates observations and implements corrective actions that should be taken.
- Ensures plant’s compliance to 3rd party Functional Control / Pre-Requisite program requirements including HACCP, SQF, and other customer-mandated programs.
- Conducts annual training in HACCP, GMP’s, Food defense, and Allergens
- Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, or related field preferred
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing management or equivalent experience
- Six Sigma experience a plus
- Familiar with AIB / HACCP / SQF compliance standards
- Familiar with food defense compliance standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead and direct others
- Prior management or supervisory experience preferred
- General knowledge of printing and converting technologies preferred
- Experience with Minitab software and SAP is a plus
- Travel required
- Visual Color Discrimination, the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors
SCHEDULE DEMANDS:
- General schedule is a 9-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedule; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
- Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, or riding.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 9-hours.
- Occasional bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting required.
- Simple and power grasping with both right and left hands is required.
- Occasional Lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
- Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.

Pay Range: $90,825.00 - $121,100.00
