MISSION / SUMMARY:
Supports and serves as back up to CI Manager. Administers quality standards for paperboard products, and related raw materials, during all production and packaging processes to ensure adherence to quality standards. Provides technical training and support to management and employees with regards to the plant’s product safety programs (HACCP, SQF, Food Defense, etc.) and Lean initiatives.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
Instructions: This portion should include Principal Duties and Responsibilities for a position. Include only those current duties and responsibilities that account for 5% or more of the work.
- Coach front line employees on all SQF requirements and quality activities.
- Assist in meeting manufacturing schedules and coordinating operations with production teams.
- Communicates with employees to establish process stability throughout shift changes, downtime and maintenance intervention.
- Coordinate communication, disposition and investigations on internal quality issues and defective product.
- Assist in new business and new trial onboarding.
- Represent Graphic Packaging at customer locations. Respond to, evaluate, and resolve customer complaints. Track and manage customer feedback regarding quality.
- Verifies the quality of product visual assessment and random inspection using specific testing tools.
- Trains operators on troubleshooting, quality checks, and identifying defects.
- Develop SOP’s and processes within operations to continually improve performance.
- Ensures plant’s compliance to 3rd party Functional Control / Pre-Requisite program requirements including HACCP, SQF, and other customer-mandated programs.
- Conducts annual training in HACCP, GMP’s, Food Defense, Allergens and any other quality / SQF topics.
- Participates in safety and quality behavior-based observations, GEMBA’s, layered process audits and any other auditing activities.
- Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
- High School Diploma, College degree preferred.
- Familiar with HACCP, Food Defense and SQF compliance standards.
- Active Listening Skills – Ability to listen to what others are saying and then ask appropriate questions
- Speaking Skills – Ability to talk to others and effectively convey information
- Troubleshooting – ability to critically think through tough situations and make sound informed decisions.
- Visual Color Discrimination, the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors
SCHEDULE DEMANDS:
- Schedule will align with the continuous shifts. Support on off shifts.
- Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, or riding.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 9-hours.
- Occasional bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting required.
- Simple and power grasping with both right and left hands is required.
- Occasional Lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
- Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
Pay Range: $61,950.00 - $82,600.00
