As a Manufacturing Analyst, you will have the opportunity to partner directly with the Plant Manager and site leadership team (SLT) to make an impact on the business. This role is intended to introduce you to our business and prepare you to take on a management position. Acting as a critical business partner, the Manufacturing Analyst will have primary responsibility for Operations key performance indicator (KPI) tracking, Continuous Improvement & Quality activities, and Safety/Environmental duties.  The position will also frequently interact with and support the Operations team.

 

OPERATIONS

  • Act as a business partner to the Operations team, assisting with Ad Hoc reporting, tasks, and projects.
  • Finds resolution to production issues (schedule, equipment maintenance, raw materials, packaging, quality, etc.)
  • Continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of all work areas.
  • Involvement in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5’s, Six Sigma, PDCA, and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.
  • Act as a change agent to drive continuous improvement, which includes root cause analysis and problem-solving.
  • Educate operation employees to ensure a working knowledge of continuous improvement methods, processes, and procedures.

 

QUALITY

  • Ensures that product quality meets or exceeds established standards.
  • Ensures that the team maintains quality standards and uses SPC techniques for problem resolution through knowledge of product specifications and training of personnel.  
  • Ensures that product quality, production efficiencies, and overall productivity meets or exceeds established standards.
  • Strives to be technically proficient with production machinery and equipment. Able to provide problem resolution and ensure that testing and product development are carried out professionally.  
  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required. 
  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF). 
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation. 
  • Responsible for compliance with all facility food safety policies and procedures; including product safety (GMPs)/Sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Validates that Quality Audits are being completed by all work areas (all equipment locations).
  • Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting customer quality requirements.

 

SAFETY (HSE)

  • Demonstrate and promote safety as a core value by creating a safe work environment where no one gets hurt.
  • Utilizes knowledge and experience, providing training to team members. 
  • Works with employees to maintain a safe work environment.  Encourages and leads team members to work safely and to seek improvement in work practices for their benefit. 
  • Develops and implements safety procedures and supports key stakeholders in achieving departmental and plant safety goals.  
  • Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting safety requirements.
  • Complete documentation of safety programs and issues.
  • Input employee training & compliance data in the Safety management system.
  • Train newly hired employees on safety compliance and procedures
  • Walk the production floor to observe safety compliance and behavior.
  • Maintain the required inventory of safety materials and supplies.
  • Prepare, assign, and send out safety audits throughout the facility.  

 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

 

Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field, Engineering, Paper Science or similar with relevant experience in manufacturing.

 

OR

  • Five (5) years of progressive experience in a continuous improvement, safety, or lead manufacturing role including two (2) years of experience in paper or related industry.

  • Demonstrated project facilitation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Demonstrated statistical analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization, including comfortability with presentations/public speaking.
  • Knowledge of quality or continuous improvement processes.
  • Ability to balance priorities to meet short and long-term objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma preferred.

The anticipated starting salary for this position is between $70,000 - $93,000 annually.
