Title:  INTERNSHIP - Process Engineer

Internship Expectations and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provides support for process improvement projects. Projects involve chemicals, mechanical improvements, support for machine trials and investigations of new technologies.
  • Adheres and helps drive best practices in safe operations
  • Must learn quickly to analyze data
  • Leads one or more projects that will be started and completed within the fall
  • Conducts tests to evaluate potential process changes
  • Researches process equipment, including: obtaining quotes, coordinating product trials, and making recommendations for purchase
  • Assists in writing standard operating procedures and training manuals
  • Provides engineering support to other departments as needed
  • Presents to the department periodically and at the end of the internship
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Skills


  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or a similar field within the Engineering field
  • GPA in respective major listed above, greater than or equal to 2.5
  • Must pass pre-employment process; alcohol/drug screen, physical assessment and background check
  • Ability to be a self-starter, be self-directed, and take initiative to move forward with ideas; must be able to work with and influence others
  • Willing and able to commute and work on-site for the majority of the internship at our Staunton, Virginia location
  • Must be willing to work a general schedule of Monday-Friday, 8-hour shift; must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally that may include mornings, nights, weekends and be punctual and dependable in doing so
