Position Summary:   Supports the facility (printing/cutting/finishing) with various pre-production activities centered around the CAD.

Essential Functions:

  • Cut folding carton samples for design and customer approval.
  • Manage sample board inventory
  • Make Coating Blankets for use on printing press as requested
  • Plot spot sheets and vinyls for production
  • Prepare first run case samples for production use
  • Cut printed mockups on CAD table as requested
  • Cut new basket designs for testing on the Nick Breaker Rack
  • Perform CAD table maintenance and troubleshoot issues as needed
  • Maintain written and digital logs of items cut
  • Maintain design files through documentation and organization
  • Develop packing & palletizing specifications using TOPS
  • Maintain the library of packing specifications
  • Folding carton design to assist Structural Designers as needed
  • Work independently, establish priorities and meet deadlines
  • Manage outgoing UPS/FedEx Shipments for proofs and samples
  • Performs other job duties as assigned
  • Follows all company safety requirements
  • Comply with all company rules and regulations

Required Skills

  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Understanding of measuring tools, measurements and tolerances
  • Ability to operate the plotter table and associated tools
  • Basic graphic design knowledge
  • Use of Microsoft Office applications

Required Experience

  • CAD program use and experience (i.e. AutoCad, Solidworks, CimPack, Artios)
  • Previous workshop/mechanical experience
  • Folding carton and beverage carrier design experience
