Human Resources Coordinator

This position will report to the Manager, Human Resources and provide best-in-class expertise to support the human resources function at the Stone Mountain, GA facility.


Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

  • Prepare bi-weekly hourly payroll in WorkBrain.  Review exception reports daily.  Process payroll corrections or additions as needed. Make changes in WorkBrain as needed.
  • Prepare bi-weekly salaried non-exempt payroll in WorkBrain. Review exception reports daily.  Process payroll corrections or additions as needed.
  • Act as a primary contact for human resource issues and questions from employees concerning pay, policies, practices and processes.  Respond to concerns and questions in a timely manner. Must have a strong knowledge of state, federal and company policies to assist the Mgr., Human Resources with these policies.
  • Actively participate in developing and sustaining a culture focused on safety, quality, productivity improvement and cost reduction.  This will require time on the production floor focused on building and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Assist in hourly and salary recruitment process to include: review resumes/applications online, schedule and complete initial phone schedule and administer pre-employment assessment/s, interview, schedule and coordinate on site interviews with applicant and interview panel, conduct plant tours, check references, make employment offers and coordinate onboarding activities. 
  • Schedule new hire orientation to include: contacting new hires prior to orientation to confirm start date/time.  Prepare all new hire materials for orientation. Lead and/or participate in new hire orientation.
  • Assist with tracking of internal selection process i.e. job postings, record selected employee, etc.
  • Complete all necessary personnel changes entered by the location in SAP.  Prepare and submit Employee Action Form/s (EAF) to Corporate HRIS for entry into SAP.  Verify accuracy of all data entered in SAP.  Complete monthly audit of SAP Master Data to ensure integrity and accuracy of records.
  • Make changes in WorkBrain and SAP as needed.
  • Track and maintain Leave of Absence such as: FMLA and Short-Term Disability cases. Maintain an accurate audit and process payments for premiums presented by employees on leave of absence.
  • Maintain disciplinary database. 
  • Maintain attendance tracking and notification to supervisors/managers when violations occur. 
  • Oversee and maintain performance evaluations (30-60-90) for new hires, rehires and internal transfers.
  • Maintain employee records in accordance to established GPI standard. 
  • As applicable, administer local benefit plan by participating in annual enrollment meetings, distribution of materials, answer questions, assist with resolution of issues brought forth by employees.
  • Assist the Mgr., Human Resources in employee relations matters and grievance issues.
  • Participate and/or lead community involvement and wellness initiatives in a variety of event planning.
  • Complete weekly, monthly headcount reports and monthly HR Scorecard. 
  • Track Safety Shoes Allowances, process payroll deductions and submit payment for invoices.
  • Order and ensure delivery of lunches for various site meetings i.e. new hire orientation.
  • Maintain and order HR office supplies to include copier supplies.
  • Maintain all HR forms in the break room and office area.
  • Prepare separation documents including GPI separation letter, GA department of labor separation notice and move personnel files from active to inactive file.  Use GPI separation checklist to ensure all separation tasks are complete.
  • Process requisitions and invoices for department.
  • Responsible for vending refunds.
  • All other duties as assigned.














Ideally the individual that would be a strong fit for this position would have some of the following knowledge/skills and abilities;

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources
  • Two (2) to five (5) years’ experience managing Human Resources in a diverse manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must possess effective time management, problem solving, organizational and priority setting skills.
  • Payroll experience required; WorkBrain experience is a PLUS.
  • SAP experience is a PLUS.
  • Demonstrated success in a fast paced, action-oriented organization.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and be approachable.
  • Experience managing multiple human resources activities such as recruiting, onboarding, benefit enrollment, and payroll.
  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated business acumen as it relates to Human Resources. Must possess strong knowledge of HR legal issues including federal and state labor laws and regulations related to employment, wage and hour.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Human Resource professional certification a PLUS.
  • Must be available and flexible to work various hours to support continuous operation and work overtime as required.

 

An individual in this position must be able to learn and demonstrate the following skills;

  • Payroll systems – WorkBrain and any other systems implemented by GPI in the future.
  • GPI standard Human Resources audit requirements for compliance.

Essential Job Functions include the following:

  • General hours of work are Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (EST). Overtime is occasionally required (5-10 hours a week).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to read a computer screen or other electronic devices.  Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment is necessary. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.  Employee is required to wear steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protecting or any other personal protective equipment when in the manufacturing area. The Stone Mountain, GA facility requires compliance to the Good Manufacturing Process guidelines as it applies to nets and coverings. The noise level in the immediate work environment is normally quiet, however requires exposure to a noisy manufacturing environment.
