Title:  Maintenance Helper Utility

Job Summary:

Position is intended to provide assistance to the Maintenance Mechanic as needed.  The individual will also perform many other duties within the operation when no assistance is necessary in the maintenance area. Employees in the Maintenance Helper/Utility classification may be required to work overtime in a situation in which their presence would prevent downtime of a piece of equipment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Maintenance Mechanic as required.
  2. Perform basic maintenance responsibilities such as changing filers, light bulbs, belts, chains, etc.
  3. Painting walls/pipes and performing other AIB compliant duties.
  4. Grease bailer fans on the roof.
  5. Provide coverage/assistance in other areas of the facility.
  6. Clean department as needed.
  7. Participate in any tasks necessary to allow for continuous operation of the process.
  8. Capable of lifting in excess of 75 lbs.
  9. Follow all Plant Safety rules and maintain a safe working environment.
  10. Monitor the level of quality in the products being produced.
  11. Maintain lawn for facility.
  12. Snow removal on walks and drives.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Collect Statistical Process Control (SPC) Data as required.
  2. Participate in Continuous Process Improvement Activities as required.
  3. Follow all guidelines related to the AIB certification.

 

Qualifications:

A Mechanical Aptitude Test may be required of any candidate for this classification.  Heavy lifting requirements will be necessary in assisting in maintenance projects and when performing duties in other areas of the operation. The use of hand tools and power tools is a frequent requirement of the job duties that include building miscellaneous projects from wood and metal.

 

A lift truck license and the ability to operate scissor lifts is required for this classification.

 

PAY RATE: $18.76 /HR

 

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: 

Monday – Friday, 8 hour shifts. 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Occasional weekends
