OPPORTUNITY: We are a folding carton manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join our Sturgis, MI team. We’re recruiting for multiple positions so be sure you review all of our job postings.  This job posting is for a Utility Operator - Floor Person.


PAY RATE: $19.19 /HR

PLUS, SHIFT PREMIUM: $0.15 – 0.25/HR



Monday – Friday, 8 hour shifts. We have openings on 2nd and 3rd shift, but must be willing to train on 1st shifts. Must be willing and able to work weekends and overtime as required.

Job Summary:

The Floor Person/Utility position requires a wide variety of duties in the Printing Department, centering on the operation of the Aerators.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Aerate plain stock in advance of printing.
  2. Aerate printed stock in advance of diecutting.
  3. Clean and maintain the Aerators.
  4. Segregate/Scrap defective plain and printed stock.
  5. Support the feeding of the printing press as directed by the press crew.
  6. Assist the press crew as directed.
  7. Transport plain stock and printed stock using a walk behind fork truck.
  8. Band Loads of scrap and printed loads for outside processing.
  9. Organize plastic and wood pallets.
  10. Ability to follow/interpret written and verbal instructions and schedules.
  11. Participate in any tasks necessary to allow for continuous operation of the process.
  12. Capable of lifting in excess of 50 lbs.
  13. Follow all Plant Safety and Food Safety rules.
  14. Maintain a safe working environment.
  15. Monitor the level of quality in the products being produced.
  16. Comply with the Consolidated Standards for Inspection – Food Contact Manufacturing Facilities through AIB International.



Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Collect Statistical Process Control (SPC) Data as required.
  2. Participate in Continuous Process Improvement Activities as required.



  1. Basic math, reading and writing skills are required to perform this job.
