Job Summary:
Performs a wide variety of duties associated with the finishing process, by packing folding cartons manually, or off of a machine fed line.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide training for new Associates in the process.
- Inform the Glue Operators of any problems occurring on the line.
- Inform the Glue Operators when running short on supplies.
- Assist with clearing jam ups occurring on machine fed lines.
- Consult job ticket for proper packing instructions prior to starting a new job/shift.
- Capable of lifting 40 lbs.
- Backup other Associates on machine fed lines as needed to keep production going.
- Communicate instructions to other Associates/shifts.
- Participate in any tasks necessary to allow for continuous operation of the process.
- Follow all Plant Safety rules and maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor the level of quality in the products being produced.
- Comply with the Consolidated Standards for Inspection – Food Contact Manufacturing Facilities following SQF Guidelines.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collect Statistical Process Control (SPC) Data as required.
- Participate in Continuous Process Improvement Activities as required.
Qualifications:
Basic math, reading and writing skills are required to perform this job.
