MISSION / SUMMARY: The Maintenance Planner is part of a business unit manufacturing work system team and helps improve workforce productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating delays through planning and coordination of manpower, parts, material and equipment. The successful candidate will understand and align business operations and Maintenance as he/she executes their role to exceed expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

 

JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Responsible for daily and annual outage maintenance planning for a production area of the mill
  • Capable of describing the job and estimating the man-hours required for employees to perform the job
  • Capable of working with a highly motivated team whose goal is excellence
  • Work closely with the Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) to ensure efficient planning and coordination of maintenance work
  • Available to facilitate repairs during unpredicted breakdowns

Required Skills

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years experience in maintenance or planning
  • 3 years experience maintenance planning experienced preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Technical degree or related experience

 

SKILLS: Skills include but not limited to the following.

  • Effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office Software, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project preferred
  • SAP Business Software Knowledge preferred
  • The incumbent must utilize teamwork skills to ensure safe and efficient operations

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule is M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
