Role Summary

The Senior Coordinator – Stores coordinates the daily activities of personnel and process in the storeroom.  This role works closely with the Storeroom Supervisor to ensure materials are ordered, received, handled, stored, issued, shipped, and cycled in accordance to departmental procedures.

Job Accountabilities

  • Maintains inventory and orders departmental supplies as needed
  • Coordinates MRP (inventory) weekly report, physical inventory, and stock outs
  • Utilize SAP business system for work order issues and warehouse management system
  • Coordinates and manages all receipts, issues, freight bills, free stock, and return goods
  • Coordinates and participates in safety activities to include crew meetings and accident investigation, and corrective action
  • Coordinates ISO activities to include training, audit preparation, and corrective action
  • Coordinates training activities of departmental personnel
  • Coordinates housekeeping activities
  • Coordinates the inventory control cycle counts
  • Coordinates storeroom requisitions and confirm orders
  • Train store employees on daily tasks and responsibilities
  • Maintains standard and custom reports (SAP, Microsoft Excel)
  • Functions as department liaison between maintenance, operations, and Storeroom Supervisor
  • Receives and processes requests for material and supplies from the storeroom and assure that items are delivered in an expeditious manner
  • Monitor store personnel work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with departmental rules and guidelines
  • Assists with storeroom description updates and changes
  • Research, handle and address storeroom issues or concerns
  • Monitor usage all free stores and prorate items for the storeroom and enter replenishment requisitions and stock weekly.
  • Collaborate organization, housekeeping, material storage, and annual cycle counting in all storerooms and yards
  • Monitor storeroom stock by designating storeroom location, finalizing SAP material masters, verifying quantities, min/max and bin locations and master material list in SAP, cycling on quantities, cycling off and removing obsolete material, creating bin tags, and stocking new material
  • Quarterly Reliability Rotation of all rotating equipment in the storeroom; work with general presence contractor ensuring equipment is rotated per reliability guidelines, update status of equipment and report results on mill shared drive.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience

Required Characteristics

  • High School Diploma or GED/equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • No more than one (1) moving violation in the last three (3) years
  • No accidents in which you were at fault in the last seven (7) years
  • No DWIs or DUIs on driving record
  • Two (2) years of warehouse or shipping/receiving experience
  • Two (2) years of experience in SAP or comparable warehousing system
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills to effectively coach, motivate and communicate with all levels of organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to work shift work, overtime, holidays, and weekends as scheduled
  • Solid organization skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background screening and drug screen


Desired Characteristics

  • Three (3) years of experience in buyer role
  • Knowledge/experience with 5-S, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles
