Graphic Packaging International, LLC is one of the largest manufacturers of paperboard and fiber-based packaging for the world’s most recognized brands of food, beverage, and consumer products is growing their business!  We have embarked on a significant capital investment to modernize and grow our coated recycled paperboard (CRB) manufacturing portfolio. The investment includes building a state-of-the-art paper machine on a greenfield site in Waco, Texas. This investment will upgrade the company’s overall recycled paperboard capacity and take advantage of a rapidly-growing market for recycled and recyclable packaging.

 

This investment will position Graphic Packaging International, LLC as the most technologically advanced producer in its industry, benefitting their customers, their shareholders and the environment when this highly productive paperboard machine ramps up. 

 

We are seeking a Training Supervisor (Internally: Supervisor, Training) to join the Waco, Texas  (Greenfield Startup) team.   

 

 

Job Description:

Training Supervisor is responsible for enhancing the development and sustainable training needs of all Waco Mill employees. The Training Supervisor actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance processes, achieve cost savings and improve value stream productivity.

Job Functions: 

Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develops and implements training for the Waco Facility, including administrative functions, system applications, interpersonal development, and technical training.
  • Conducts annual and quarterly training and development needs assessment.
  • Responsible for analyzing training needs, developing curriculum and delivering courses for the location, division, and organization.
  • Improves training in all job classifications by incorporating and updating processes and procedures to drive departmental training involvement and ownership results.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of training and individual employee growth by coaching, mentoring, and promoting Graphic Packaging International Core Values.
  • Assures training programs are maintained current by incorporating new information, plant design changes, plant procedural changes and revisions, new regulations into training content.
  • Develops and maintains Learning Management System to support facility needs
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts, supervisors and managers to develop specific training to meet the needs identified by audit or other means.
  • Coordinates training schedules and evaluates external training resources.
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
  • Partners with the HR Manager to address training gaps and identify training opportunities as well as other GPI initiatives.
  • Responsible for timely development of training metrics for measurement of training, and records.
  • Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR Staff.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, training/related field, or equivalent corresponding job-related experience required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in training and organizational development.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to multitask and prioritize while meeting deadlines
  • Confidence and ability to interact with various people across departmental lines to achieve goals. 
  • Strong oral, written, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and other programs required.
