The Catcher (Formers) plays a crucial role in the production process, primarily responsible for the inspection, packing, and palletizing of finishing products. This position is essential in ensuring that the products meet the quality standards set by the company and its customers. This role requires a keen eye for detail, as the individual must identify good and poor-quality work according to established standards. Adherence to packing specifications and safety requirements is paramount in this position. The job functions include inspecting finished products for defects, packing and labeling boxes according to customer specifications, and palletizing finished products. The Catcher  will also be responsible for completing necessary paperwork that accompanies each job. This position may involve other duties as assigned, which could vary based on the needs of the production line.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Inspect finished product for defects according to customer/quality specifications.
  • Inspect finished product for defects according to customer/quality specifications.
  • Pack & label boxes of finished product according to customer/quality specifications.
  • Feed gluer on rotation and assist Operator.
  • Palletize boxes of finished product according to customer/quality specifications.
  • Complete required paperwork to accompany each job as well as labor reporting forms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Works well in a team environment

 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines with quality production.
  • Ability to work within safety rules/guidelines established by GPI.
  • Computer knowledge
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts.
  • Frequent strenuous/physical effort (lifting, moving heavy objects, etc.)
  • Be able to work in an environment with conditions involving noise, heat, etc.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Paper, laminating and extrusion experience a plus.
