Title:  Material Handler

Safely operates all assigned equipment to move material.  Use all equipment and effectively complete all necessary paperwork accurately.  Prepare all products for damage-free shipment.

 Procedures are well established.  Few decisions made.  Supervisor readily available as needed.

  • Operate forklift and clamp truck safely (including charging and maintenance of propane/batteries – performance of daily pre-shift inspections).
  • Haul raw rolls to back-stand of the appropriate production line.
  • Must know paperwork documentation procedures for movement of materials and be able to complete the forms efficiently and accurately. Must be able to scan material to locations and understand use of SAP.
  • Work with other material handlers, operators and assistants to keep production areas serviced. Must be familiar with production machine schedules.
  • Work toward and maintain an accurate orderly inventory by placing product in proper places. Be able to locate material in the warehouse with little or no assistance.
  •  Assist with stretch wrapping finished rolls as needed.
  •  Assists on the production line as determined by supervisor/management.
  •  Work in a safe manner and assure co-workers work in a safe manner.
  •  Help in general housekeeping
  •  Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Occasional physical effort (continuous or prolonged standing/ bending, etc.) required.  Work environment involves constant exposure to adverse conditions such as dust, noise, fumes, weather, poor lighting, or heavy machinery/equipment.

Required Experience

High School Diploma/Equivalent required.  Zero to two years experience required.

 Forklift certification required.  Understanding of inventory procedures required.
