Mission:   The mission of the Finishing Manager is to deliver the output, productivity and efficiency of the departments needed to meet the organization’s goals.  This position is responsible for the implementation of quality assurance for the departments - including procedures, standards, training, and quality control measures.  They are also responsible for the equipment maintenance to manufacturers’ standards, including scheduling with the maintenance department. They will manage department personnel -including selection, hiring, training, safety, development, performance appraisals and discipline when necessary.  We are looking for a candidate with a 4-year degree that is willing to relocate.  We're looking for a candidate that can be promoted at least 2 levels (Operations Manager and Plant Manager levels)


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops and implements safety and housekeeping procedures and systems.
  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Resolves worker’s issues submits unsettled issues to the appropriate person for action.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Determines and sets productivity expectations and product quality goals and parameters - ensure that all members of the department are accountable to achieve these expectations. Communicates and tracks these measures daily with employees.
  • Development and testing of new manufacturing techniques, procedures and products, and supervise the implementation.
  • Manages inventory of raw materials, work-in-process and finished products to ensure they are maintained at optimal levels.
  • Develops and carries out training for all employees in the department.


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises employees in the Finishing Departments (47 people).
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Those responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.



Education and/or Experience

Four college degree is required

5-7 years of experience in manufacturing – packaging experience is a plus

3-5 years of supervisory experience

SAP knowledge and experience is a plus

Must be willing to relocate
