Graphic Packaging-Visalia manufactures and distributes paper cups and plastic lids for the food service industry and is currently recruiting for the following position.


JOB TITLE: 2nd Shift Area Group Leader                

DEPARTMENT: Production

WORK SCHEDULE: 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 am (midnight)


The Area Group Leader is responsible for coordinating and assisting the supervisor in the direction of the employees. The group leader provides knowledge of production skills, techniques, and practices to a group of individuals. Under the direction of the supervisor, the Area Group Leader will assist with employee training, employee work schedules, employee evaluations, production reporting, inventory, safety and quality meetings, and other duties as assigned. Furthermore, the Area Group Leader will reflect a positive attitude and promote harmonious work environment through good communication and team building within the plant.


All employees must follow all Graphic Packaging International work rules, code of conduct and safety procedures and policies including wearing personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, hearing protection and safety goggles.


WORK DEVICES/TOOLS consist of the following: computer, copy machine, calculator, CB Radio, telephone, paper, pen, clipboard.



  • Minimum 2 yrs experience in an hourly lead role in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven leadership abilities including prior active involvement on a projects, committee, or task team required
  • Must have flexibility to assist on other shifts as needed with minimal notice
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities, people, schedules, and processes
  • Good written, computer, & organizational skills
  • Good attendance, excellent work ethics, & positive attitude
  • Ability to work with people in a professional manner
  • Must be able walk around constantly throughout their department to ensure production is operating correctly and employees are working efficiently. Surfaces are mostly concrete
  • Must be able to lift/carry a 33-gallon trash bag containing test lids
  • Must be able to use a step stool or climb a flight of metal steps leading up to a platform at the top of the machine.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Overtime will be required as necessary including weekends. Graphic Packaging International operates on a 24 hour, 7 day/week basis
