JOB TITLE:  2nd Shift Packaging Operator               

DEPARTMENT:  Maintenance

WORK SCHEDULE:  4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (Midnight)


The primary responsibility of the Packaging Operator is to maintain the auto-bagger equipment, case sealers, case erector, packing stands, cups & lids case date code.  Duties will include the following: change out films on the auto-bagger equipment and change out tape in case sealers. Change out broken parts on auto baggers and case sealers. Repair push carts if necessary. Troubleshoot & maintain case date code & change ink cartridge as needed. Assist in auto baggers, case sealer & case erector rebuilds. Maintain and promote cleanliness and organization in work area. Packaging Operator will also complete paperwork and logs, create notifications, receive pass down & perform pass down with oncoming or outgoing shifts


All employees must follow all Graphic Packaging International work rules, code of conduct and safety procedures and policies including wearing personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, hearing protection and safety goggles.


WORK DEVICES/TOOLS consist of the following: Allen wrenches, standard hand tools, air guns, grease guns’ radio, utility knives gloves, power tools and IP Computer



  • Must be able to stand on concrete flooring while performing work related tasks. 
  • Must be able to frequently lift/lower tools weighing up to 10 lbs. On an occasional basis, the

employee will lift a box of cups weighing approximately 20 pounds.

  • Must be able to perform pushing/pulling activities when performing work functions. Pushing activities may be forceful in nature.
  • Must be able to climb step stools and/or ladders to perform job functions.
  • Must be able to bend throughout the work shift. A majority of bending occurs in a slight forward bend for brief periods of times. This may be performed on a repetitive basis. Bending may also occur on a prolonged basis.
  • Must be able to kneel to perform work related activities. Knee pads are provided by the employer
  • Must be able to crawl under the holding tank to access the valve.

Must be able to reach between waist and shoulder height occurs on a continuous basis. Reaching

  • overhead and below waist level occurs on an occasional basis 
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Overtime will be required as necessary including weekends. Graphic Packaging International operates on a 24 hour, 7 day/week basis
  • 1 – 2 years previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
