Process Engineer Advisor – Graphic Packaging International, LLC – 301 Sheehy Parkway Waco, TX 76712
DUTIES: Provide technical support and leadership within the department. Develop and implement best practices to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction. Assist in the development of specific performance parameters for operations. Support and lead process improvement projects involving chemicals and mechanical improvements. Provide support for on chemical trials. Investigate new technologies. Drive process engineering roles. Troubleshoot problems for paper machines and see through to solution. Identify opportunities and direct efforts to improve existing processes to improve productivity, quality, and/or reduce cost. Act as a change agent to drive continuous improvement of production processes to improve quality and increase efficiency, which includes root cause analysis and problem solving. Analyze downtime. Coordinate testing in support of process improvements, trials, and other instances as required. Coordinate activities of vendors and production to resolve quality problems and to continuously improve quality levels. Review daily production and quality data. Analyze production and operation issues. Provide data analysis to improve teams and processes on a timely basis.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper Science, Paper & Printing Science, or a related engineering field required. Three years of experience in process engineering in the pulp and paper industry required, including any experience with process improvement, working in a manufacturing operations environment, and with troubleshooting. Up to 25% national travel required.
