Job Functions

 

  1. Coordinate the tasks of the Manufacturing Coordinator and the Production Planner/Scheduler in scheduling of all machines, processes, and production activities within the plant.  Responsible for customer on-time shipment performance.
  2. Manage shipping commitments for effective service to all customers and advise Sales of any unplanned delays. 
  3. Optimize Average Run Quantity (ARQ) for the laminator, laminator cutter, and extruder.  Work with Customer Service and Sales as needed to maximize ARQ.
  4. Analyze raw material requirements and determine the lowest cost scenario to fulfill order quantities.  Place raw material Purchase Orders from approved vendors to support the production schedules for assigned departments.
  5. Responsible for monitoring raw materials and WIP inventory levels within established tolerances for items produced or purchased for the assigned operating department.
  6. Complete daily Board Shortage Report to coordinate board transfers from local outside warehouses into the plant for the cutting and lamination processes.
  7. Analyze and forecast film and foil usage for lamination resins.  Place Purchase Orders with lowest cost suppliers.
  8. Work with Receiving to resolve daily issues with incoming shipments from both internal and external warehousing and distributing.
  9. Produce weekly report for aged raw materials.  Determine if aged raw materials can be substituted on any open orders to control inventory.  Update monthly aged inventory report.
  10. Designated backup for scheduling of production equipment.  Adjust production schedules based on operational performance, material availability, or changes to the Master Schedule.  Responsible for communicating all schedule changes to appropriate management and ensuring raw materials, WIP inventory, and tooling are available to support the change.  Monitor and update the daily Rail Car Report.
  11. Designated backup for the onsite Material Master to build and maintain item numbers.
  12. Resolve workflows with revised pricing and correct P.O. prices to avoid discrepancies on invoices.
  13. Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).
  14. Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for Continuous Improvement programs and processes.
  15. This position will cross train within the department and must maintain the appropriate knowledge level to successfully function as a backup for other team members as necessary. Perform all other duties as assigned.
  16. Clearly understand customer requirements and deliver results to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  17. Stop any process that is not meeting food safety requirements and/or customer quality requirements.

 

Job Specifications

  • Post High School education with a minimum two to four years of experience preferred. 
  • P.C. spreadsheet, Excel, PRMS, and MRP or scheduling experience is required.
  • Requires occasional physical effort (e.g., continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending).
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically conducive to an office environment, however, may requires some exposure to a manufacturing environment where hearing protection, as well as additional personal protective equipment is required.

Salary Mid:   $69 635,00

Salary Max:  $87 020,00
