MISSION / SUMMARY:
This position provides technical support to the plant by coordinating trials, troubleshooting productivity issues and working with team members throughout the plant to define issues to implement solutions.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.
- Comply with all company and department safety policies, procedures and programs.
- Identifies opportunities and direct efforts to improve existing processes to improve productivity, quality and/or reduce cost.
- Manage testing in support of process improvements, new product development and other instances as required.
- Identify and quantify issues and recommend solutions.
- Lead or participate in design reviews as required.
- Conduct process studies and/or recommend areas of investigation.
- Work with operations team to develop machine center lines. Conduct machine audits to validate machines are running at center line.
- Work with operations team to optimize machine throughput by improving OEE.
- Develop and implement solutions to improve product quality and first pass yield.
- Use Lean methodology and systems to manage day to day machine operations and make process improvements.
- Work with operations to clear and issues preventing running asset at maximum design speed.
- Identify safety hazards and work with operations team to implement a hazard mitigation.
- Support Manufacturing Supervisors as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
- Four-year degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Packaging, Chemical, etc.) or closely related work experience required in lieu of degree.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
- Strong PC skills required including Microsoft office suite and SAP.
- Prior Project Management experience a definite plus
- Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and techniques.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 9 hours.
- Frequent walking for extended periods of time up to 9 hours.
- Occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Reading computer screen and other electronic devices.
- Use of stairs daily.
- Use of ladders required occasionally.
- Ability to walk and maneuver on machine mezzanines and platforms occasionally.
- Ability to work with employees with diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to think clearly and problem solve is a must.
- Must be tolerant of fumes, dust, noise, and a hot and cold work environment
- Must be capable to keeping up with technological advances.
- Demonstrate initiative in problem solving issues surrounding area of responsibility.
- Must have strong ability to oversee multiple projects ensuring tight deadlines are met.

Pay Range: $71,250.00 - $95,000.00
