Title:  Accounts Payable/Receivable Intern

MISSION / SUMMARY:

The Accounts Payable/Receivable Intern is designed to provide interns with practical professional work

experience in the Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable areas of the manufacturing industry. The

Graphic Packaging Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Accounting Coordinators are part of a

corporate, centralized function that processes approximately 600,000 invoices per year and disburses

over $4 billion and receives in excess of $6 billion in customer payments. They understand and align

business operations and Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable as he/she executes their role to

exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and

operational objectives.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Perform Accounts Payable functions such as vendor invoice processing, report processing, payment distribution, and other functions as assigned
  • Partner with Vendor Service team & company vendors to resolve issues
  • Perform Accounts Receivable functions such as cash application, invoice distribution, dispute management, and other functions as assigned
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable/Receivable and Supply Chain teams to execute the procure- to-pay process

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Current student in good standing pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field.

 

SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform daily work tasks in a diverse, changing, and growing business environment
  • Proactive and creative work approach
  • Self-motivated and directed; ability to work autonomously and in team environment with minimal supervision
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Good analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
