Title:  Analyst, Sr. Materials Management

This position is responsible for working with operating managers and the mill controller in meeting requirements for daily transactions, and reporting of financial results with insights to trends, issues and opportunities to support the achievement of mill performance targets.

 

They understand and align business operations and Purchasing as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

 

  • Plan all production chemicals for the mill by determining what to purchase, when to purchase, how much to purchase and the delivery date.
  • Monitor daily consumption and adjust the plan.
  • Utilize SAP MRP to facilitate purchasing decisions.
  • Place purchase orders to support the materials and production plan.
  • Maintain accurate purchase orders and delivery dates in SAP.
  • Maintain accurate material cost records in SAP.
  • Maintain and monitor all records for materials transactions in SAP.
  • Manage and coordinate with suppliers the materials plan and the changes to materials delivery dates.
  • Coordinate with production managers to determine desired inventory levels and safety stock.
  • Coordinate with production managers to determine daily consumption plans.
  • Coordinate with mill production managers to plan changes to the materials consumption plan and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate the mill production plan with GPI Corporate Supply Chain and Mill managers.
  • Plan the production for coatings and enter production orders in SAP.
  • Enter forecasts and demand plans in SAP.
  • Maintain production bills of materials.

 


Required Skills

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of production planning experience.

3 to 5 years of experience with MRP logic and decision making in enterprise software, SAP, Oracle, etc.

3 to 5 years of experience working with forecasting models and demand planning.

1 to 2 years of experience building and maintaining bills of materials.

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

Bachelor’s degree in related field.

 

SKILLS:

  • Ability to interpret financial results and business indicators for trend/opportunities
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Self-Starter with ability to multitask and prioritize while meeting deadlines
  • Confidence and ability to interact with various people across departmental lines to achieve goals.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • A strong command of MS Office applications, especially in Excel
  • Can demonstrate regular and reliable attendance at work

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
