Title: Outage Project Engineer

MISSION / SUMMARY:
The Outage Project Engineer is a critical, leadership position responsible for the overall annual outage preparation and execution of the West Monroe Mill’s yearly outages. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the maintenance planners, maintenance superintendents, operations superintendents, engineering managers and vendors to develop detailed and accurate mill wide outage plans and schedules.
JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Drive safety to Zero injuries and support mill transition to safety focused culture.
- Develop long-term strategies aimed at creating detailed mill wide outage schedules.
- As a leadership team representative, act as a change agent for developing a collaborative approach in working with all of the different departments to create accurate outage shutdown, execution and start up plans.
- Develop a strategic mill wide action log plan to prepare all departments for annual outages.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, mill engineers and capital engineers to develop accurate schedules that capture primary, secondary, and tertiary critical paths.
- Develop a plan for identifying and tracking mill wide outage costs.
Required Skills
SPECIFIC SKILLS:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel software.
- Working knowledge of a CMMS system preferably SAP.
- Utilize SAP for the creation of task lists to assist in job planning.

Required Experience
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
- Skilled in utilization of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably SAP.
- Multi-tasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines on a continuous basis.
- Able to convey a sense of urgency and drive to perform and deliver expected results to the organization.
- Organized approach to work and ability to deal with multiple competing priorities to make appropriate decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a diverse team to achieve stretch goals.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
- 15-20 years of engineering experience in pulp and paper preferred.
SCHEDULE DEMANDS:
- General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
- Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
- Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
- Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
