This position is critical to the safe and reliable operations of equipment in the Woodmill, Kraft, Caustic and Recycle areas of the mill.  Fiber Supt aligns business operations to exceed customer expectations and achieve GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Provide guidance and coaching to department leadership, including Asst. Supt- Pulp, Asst. Supt- Woodmill, Asst. Supt- Caustic, Broke Supv., and Shift Supervisors.
  • Establish high standards for safety, housekeeping, and centerline operations, with daily feedback to build team accountability.
  • Drive safety to Zero injuries and support mill transition to safety focused culture.
  • Provide the operational expertise for improving uptime and reducing cost.  Provide strategic, forward-thinking vision for department improvements.
  • Develop improved methods for new capital investments, cost reduction and equipment refurbishment.
  • Administer and implement Labor relations (CBA) through consultation with the Human Resource and Mill Managers.
  • Assist in preparation of budgets and standards for cost measurement.
  • Determine training needs and administer appropriate training programs for salaried and hourly employees in each production area in the most reliable manner.
  • Provide leadership with the implementation of problem solving strategies and execution of key performance objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience


  • Five (5) years of supervisory experience in the pulp and paper industry. 
  • Experience with Kamyr continuous pulp digesters is preferred. 



  • Bachelor of Science, Engineering
