This position is responsible for assisting the Shared Services Director in overseeing systems and controls inherent to the accounts payable and/or cash application functions and managing these two key working capital components.  The responsibilities include integrating/consolidating bolt-on acquisitions into existing systems/processes, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of vendor payments and related controls, reports and tax filings for accounts payable, applying customer receipts, designing/implementing process improvements, cash flow forecasting and supervising the staff.  The position requires high level knowledge of how these functions impact the business and be able to develop the ability to extract data required for analysis from a number of systems, such as ReadSoft, SAP and any future solutions.


JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Lead and manage assigned team of Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable employees who are responsible for processing approx. 600,000 vendor invoices per year and/or 40,000-45,000 payments, processing approx. 25,000 Travel & Entertainment reports, all Vendor/Customer Master record updates, $2.5 billion in vendor payment distribution or other department tasks as assigned.
  • Accountable for meeting business unit KPI targets and metrics (i.e. # of Invoices Processed per Day, Discounts Lost %, Cash Applied within 24 Hours, Auto Application of Cash Receipts)
  • Design, suggest and execute process improvements by performing root cause analysis and identifying the key drivers in the Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable processes with a focus on gains in automation of processes, recurring issues and bottlenecks to the process (i.e. workflow analysis, sales and use tax, vendor usage, etc.)
  • Expected to design and execute ad hoc analytical reports to enhance department efficiency
  • Develop, input and document assumptions for the $2 Million overall departmental budget and forecasts by collaborating with management and Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • Manage the workload across department by working with other Supervisors in the department on an ongoing basis
  • Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls, best practices and appropriate checks and balances
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.

Required Skills


  • Supervisory experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or other Business-related program (i.e. Supply Chain Management, Risk Management, etc.) or two to four years of related experience


  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel (basic formula usage, preparing and formatting of data downloaded from SAP into Excel for reporting purposes)
