The Coordinator, Stores maintains inventory levels for the Winnipeg facility and is responsible for fully or in conjunction with the Purchasing Manager, negotiating contracts with potential vendors and suppliers.  This position must be fully versed in GPI’s policies and procedures and ensuring they and the company are compliant at all times. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:  This job description is not meant to include every detail of day to day activities of the Coordinator, Stores I, but is instead, meant to be a broad overview of main responsibilities.

 

  • Manage all communication for requisitions,  creation of purchase orders and approvals, following proper processes
  • Send out purchase orders
  • Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
  • Matches purchase orders and receipts to ensure there are no discrepancies
  • If discrepancies are identified, ensuring they are corrected in a timely manner
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery
  • Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts, etc.)
  • Conduct market research to identify best prices
  • Works closely maintenance and operations team to ensure parts are ordered in timely manner to meet preventative maintenance and regular repair schedules and needs
  • Make cost effective purchases and ensure stock is fully maintained
  • Responsible for ensuring all paperwork, work permits, and other appropriate documents are in place to ensure successful border crossing for technicians coming in from the United States for equipment repair
  • Ensure that all certificates of insurance of current and up to date
  • Maintain strong relationships and long-term purchasing agreements with suppliers and vendors
  • Responsible for setting up new suppliers and vendors following GPI policies and processes
  • Maintain records of invoices and contracts
  • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities in a fast-paced, busy environment that has changing priorities and deadlines
  • Other duties as assigned and required

 

Safety:

 

  • Support and follow established GPI safety policies and training

 

 

Job Requirements:

  • PMAC preferred, with 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing facility
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Solid organizational and communication skills
  • Experience working in SAP 
  • Solid knowledge of MS Excel
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, and maintain deadlines while doing so
  • Ability to interact with customers, co-workers, and managers in a professional and courteous manner
  • Willing to engage in both internal and external training that is mandated by management

 

 

Shift Schedule:

 

Monday to Friday schedule- 8:00AM – 4:00PM
