Red Seal Industrial Electrician Job Description

 

Graphic Packaging International, ULC, located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, currently has an immediate opening for an experienced, Industrial Electrician to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a Red Seal Industrial Electrician to use their troubleshooting, process control/PLC programming and commissioning skills. The position will be active in developing a culture of an incident free workplace, continuous improvement of equipment reliability and reducing costs to support the business success. The plant is a 24/7 operation. Successful applicants must be available to work all shifts including but not limited to, days, afternoons, rotating 12 hours shifts, weekends and statutory holidays. overtime and on-call.

 

Job requirements:

  • Ensures proper operation of manufacturing equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, drives, PLC’s, pumps, pneumatic tools, and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and manufacturer's instructions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and drawings.
  • Troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery, electrical and mechanical equipment for improved reliability and up-time
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Work closely with area operators to resolve maintenance related issues with the ability to communicate the issues and resolutions to Operators, Managers and Peers directly or via email.
  • Responsible for shift pass down to oncoming technicians.
  • Maintain maintenance log and keep it current at the end of each shift.
  • Resolve quality and safety issues.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned and required

 

 

Job Requirements/Education:

  • Must be Red Seal Industrial Electrician
  • 5+ years of experience in a production environment preferred
  • Experience with PLC/Controls/Electronics, PLC Automaton Controls
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment, with multiple projects, while meeting deadlines safely
  • Critical thinking
  • Ability to interact with customers, co-workers, and managers in a professional manner
  • Complex problem solving
  • Must be a collaborator
  • Expected to supply a standard industrial set of tools. The company will supply specialty tooling

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting, standing for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours
  • Awkward and/or repetitive movements
  • Climbing, stooping, bending, and overhead reaching
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Noisy/hot environment
  • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment
