Job Functions

Supports the Management Team by:

  • Providing leadership to Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Provides technical training and support to management and employees with regard to the plant’s Lean initiatives, including 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Schedules, develops, facilitates, implements, and tracks Lean events and activities, including the development of training materials
  • Compiles, analyzes, and interprets data related to Lean projects.
  • Executes Six-Sigma / Black Belt projects as assigned (utilizing the formal DMAIC methodology).
  • Contributes to Lean projects at the Divisional level.

Process Engineer Initiatives:

  • Provides technical expertise and leadership in equipment improvement projects (Capital and Non-Capital)
  • Assists in the conception, development, design, and performance of various operations and maintenance improvement projects
  • Initiates and supports continuous process improvement efforts for all departments
  • Compiles, analyzes, and interprets data related to process improvement projects.
  • Develops cost estimates for maintenance improvement projects
  • Assists with the maintenance of all technical documentation including prints, manuals, and process software

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

  • Act as change agent to drive continuous improvement of production and service processes to improve quality and increase efficiency, which includes root cause analysis and problem solving.
  • Drive cost savings initiatives and track progress towards plant goals.
  • Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Experience preferred in Lean, Six Sigma, 5S Capital Improvement Projects, Manufacturing
  • Quick learner and self-starter who requires minimal supervision
  • Excellent communications skills.  Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals at all levels of the organiziation, both internally and externally.
  • Able to multitask and prioritize time sensitive deadlines
  • Identifies areas of opportunities for improvement, as well as maintains metrics to help develop analysis that will drive improvement in all areas of Production
  • Supports administrative, operational and technical policies and procedures
  • Develops and implements best practice guidelines, standards and procedures
  • Executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives
  • Must be quality conscious and customer oriented
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel
  •  Experience with SAP preferred
  • Proven track record of identifying opportunities and the ability to recommend and implement improvements
  • Project Management
