We are seeking a candidate to join our Finishing Department as a Stripper. JOB SUMMARY: The Stripper is responsible for the safety of themselves and fellow co-workers.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Read and understand the job jacket.
    • Verify that all the information is correct.
    • Follow all job instructions.
  • Notify the manager if any of the above information is missing from the job jacket.
  • Operate and maintain:
    • Air Hammers
    • Electric Hand Dolly
    • Scrap System
    • Banding of Pallets
  • Remove access trim and waste from die cut loads as needed.
  • Inspect product for any defects, infestation, and contamination.
  • Separate and re-pile combo loads as needed.
  • Complete general housekeeping of the stripping area.
  • Perform and utilize all QMS procedures and documents according to the Training Task Checklist.
  • Stripper is responsibility for housekeeping – keeping area clean.
  • Stripper is responsible for carrying out other job duties assigned.

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • Manufacturing experience required.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent attendance, be able to work independently and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

 

SKILLS:

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • REASONING ABILITY
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • MECHANICAL

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
    • Schedules are up to 12-hour shifts Mondays – Fridays including weekends.
    • Occasional overtime is required to include up to 12-hour shifts.
    • Employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

 

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.
    • Awkward and/or repetitive movements
    • Ability to bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder level, kneel, balance, push/pull, twist and perform robotic motions continuously
    • Lifting up to 50 lbs. continuously and up to 74 lbs. frequently
    • Requires use of both feet on a continuous basis
    • Requires use of both hands for simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation and repetitive actions on a continuous basis
    • Ability to read, write, hear, see, speak and have agility on a continuous basis
    • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices
    • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment
    • Work in areas of fluctuating temperature
    • PPE required: Steel-toed/safety footwear, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Cut resistant Safety Gloves, Hair Net, Beard Net
