Job Title:   Breakout Operator / Stripping                                                                 

 

Department:  Finishing

 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB:

Breakout, remove waste from die cut sheets, box without mixing variables as directed by Supervision or Lead Operator. Apply QMS principles and techniques effectively.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

  1. Remove die cut trim and waste from die cut sheets.
  2. Sort and inspect finished goods to assure customer quality expectations are maintained.
  3. Sort due cut blanks by die position, as directed, to assure future operations can identify unusual problems during fabrication.
  4. Label cases with supplied labels and stack materials on skids to assure label visibility and proper layout to reduce shipping damage.
  5. Move finished goods as directed.
  6. Perform other related duties as directed by supervisions.

 

SECONDARY DUTIES:

 

  1. Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.

 

PYHSICAL REQUIREMENTS: *

 

Lifting and Carrying – required frequently throughout the work day at an average pace.

Items lifted/carried – cases – some in strained positions.

 

Maximum weight lifted/carried                             - 51 - 100 lbs.

Maximum weight lifted/carried frequently         - 51 - 50 lbs.

 

 

Pushing and Pulling – required frequently throughout the work day at an average pace.

Items pushed/pulled – pallets, pallets of stock utilizing a hand jack – some in strained positions.

 

Maximum weight pushed/pulled                              - 51 - 100 lbs. of force

Maximum weight pushed/pulled frequently          -51 - 100 lbs. of force

 

* Occasionally  - up to 1/3 of normal work day

   Frequently     - 1/3 to 2/3 of normal work day

   Continuously – 2/3 to a full work day

 

OTHER PYHSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Walking  - frequently  about on foot

Stooping - frequently   bending downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.

Crouching - frequently  bending downward and forward by bending legs and spine.

Kneeling – frequently   bending knees or coming to rest on knees.

 

Activity & Duration – Left and Right Hand

 

Simple reach upward – frequently  reaching up within normal range.

Extended reach upward – occasionally reaching up exceeding normal range.

Simple reach outward – frequently reaching out within normal range.

Simple grasp – occasionally grasping without pressure (no fingering).

Firm grasp – frequently grasping with pressure (no fingering).

Fingering – frequently manipulating objects with fingers only.

 

SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

 

Activity & Duration

 

Far vision – Occasionally required to see object clearly beyond 20 feet.

Near vision – Frequently required to see objects clearly within 20 inches.

Depth Perception – Frequent required to judge distances and relationships between objects

                                    accurately.

Field vision – Frequent required to see an area up and down or left and right with eyes fixed on

            one point.

Color vision – Frequent required to identify and distinguish color.

Hearing – Frequent required to perceive the nature of sounds by ear.

Talking – Frequent required to express ideas through the spoken word.

Feeling – Frequent perceiving attributes of objects – size, shape, texture.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. Read, write to a limited degree – perform simple addition and subtraction.

 

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. Minimal responsibility for the safety of others – no dangerous machinery involved.
  2. Read, understand, and follow all safety rules and practices. Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and unsafe actions.

 

ATTENDANCE REQUIRMENTS:    Regular attendance is required.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

  1. Fair working conditions with some disagreeable elements due to manufacturing processes – dirt, odors.
