Position Mission / Summary

As a Plant Accountant reporting to the Plant Controller, you'll be providing the financial input to our business decision making with the aim of maximizing long-term value, cash flows and shareholder return in the Americas Packaging Division. This position will support our Xenia, OH converting facility. The ideal candidate will have one to three years in an Accounting / Finance role and will provide accurate and timely financial reporting to ensure we meet our business objectives. In addition, this position will offer the opportunity to work with cross functional teams to analyze data as well as support continuous improvement activities to achieve world class financial reporting standards.

 

Position Scope

Analytical support for all Accounting and Finance activities and processes of the local Site Leadership Team. Key processes include month end close, balance sheet reconciliations including but not limited to general ledger accounting, intercompany, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory. Responsibilities also include: analysis and evaluation of the Plant’s monthly operating results and routine (daily, weekly, monthly) results reporting as requested.  Provide support for compliance initiatives including but not limited to physical inventory counts, analysis of lower cost or market, etc.

 

Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

  • Analysis of month end results: P&L and Balance Sheet including variance analysis
  • Support the Plant Controller with month end results package for the Plant to present to Senior Management
  • Lead monthly close including Balance Sheet reconciliation
  • Conduct weekly reviews of production order variances to identify unusual variances and report root cause
  • Monitor and work with plant management on Continuous Improvement initiatives and validate savings
  • Ad hoc financial analysis of financial and operating metrics to support business requirement
  • Assist with Forecasting and Budgeting as needed
  • Plant SOX compliance
  • All other duties as assigned  

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Business-related field required

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite tools

Strong analytical skills are preferred

Required Experience:

1-3 years in an Accounting/ Finance role

ERP systems experience required; for example: SAP, Oracle, etc.

Travel 25%

Essential Job Functions:

  • Must work in the plant location.
  • Must be available to work Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm
  • Must be able to work 8 hours a day with frequent overtime
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs
